Beer Swilling Aesthetes Tail-gate the Province Over

Dear friends,

We have a wild weekend ahead of us with THREE bookmobile stops!

SATURDAY we will be at VINTAGE ON THE BLOCK on Dundas Place between Clarence and Richmond from 4 pm – 8 pm.

SUNDAY we will be at the BLACKFRIARS BRIDGE BASH (we hope the location is apparently obvious) from 4 pm – 8 pm.

MONDAY we will be on WESTERN campus for Orientation from 10 am – 2 pm.

This Labour Day weekend promises to be packed with literature, as beer swilling aesthetes tail-gate the province over, demanding pocket books and literary journals at the local 7-11. We know we will be demanding books, books, and more books. We know that we CANNOT be inebriated at bookmobile events, however, as we NEED TO DRIVE A BUS. This is a hitch we did not consider, so we’ll have to be content with watching other people imbibe.

You are not so constrained. You can start Friday evening with some white wine, Saturday morning with a mimosa, Saturday afternoon and evening with some cans of Bud Lite, and open your Sunday with a spicy Caesar. You can come see us ripped and roaring at each appearance of the blue bookmobile. Will we all make it through Labour Day weekend 2024? Perhaps. Is there an afterlife where literary party people find happiness? It has been written. Will the bookmobile make it through another wild weekend of book sales? We’ll have to wait and see.

What we do know is that great books keep coming through the shop. We’ve catalogued a few of them pearly gems, and have included them in this missive via the link below. We know that you’ll likely be out making trouble over the next few days, enjoying the last days of summer and not sitting still reading, but if you DO have the inclination to buy a trashy pulp classic or something loftier, please proceed to say hi at one of our stops. Remember, the Groke is coming. We’ll need many pages to turn in the months ahead.

Much love,
Jason and Vanessa
