Selling

We are always looking to buy classic literature, poetry, philosophy, quirky non-fiction, counterculture, zines, indie comics, occult, weird art books, scholarly arts and humanities titles, local histories, as well as high points and collectible books in all subjects. If you have beautiful books for smart people, then we'd like to see them.

We happily purchase individual books and larger collections. Smaller collections are purchased over the counter at our bookshop on Elias Street. Larger collections may require a house call. Please do email, text, or call ahead if you have something for sale. We also buy small collections at our Bookmobile when we are out on the road.

Please feel free to give us a call or text (with photos) at 519-494-6645 if you have something to sell. You can also shoot us a message via whatever electronic media suits your fancy (Instagram is preferred though). You can send us photos of your collection if you'd rather save yourself the trip of hauling everything down, or to give us a preview before a house call. All is fine with us.

We also offer trade as well for books, so if you'd prefer that route then you are welcome to have an account with us to use at your convenience.

Appraisals

If you've met us, you know that we are generous with our expertise and love to talk about your treasures with you. We're happy to help you learn about rare books anytime, but sometimes something more official is required. That's where our appraisal services come in. 

We have over 40 years of combined experience dealing with rare and collectible material. Our history includes large antiquarian collections as well as oddball contemporary work such as zines, posters, and artist's books. We have seen it all, and love assessing uncommon material.

Our services are $250 a day for a professional out-appointment appraisal. We can also offer a letter for single items in-shop. This service is $50 per item. Larger collections that take longer are $250 a day as well, although we aim to be expedient, while accurate. We provide all relevant documentation for insurance, donation, and tax purposes.
