Canadian singer, songwriter, Steve Murphy has released his first collection of poetry and prose "Late For Summer".

Written during a burst of inspiration between March and April of 2018, Steve utilized his lyrical vocabulary and style to convey personal and moving thoughts on love, family, current affairs, vinyl records, memories and the mundane beauty of everyday modern life. Sequenced with an overall story arc "Late For Summer" presents one day in a man's life, from morning to night.

Similarities and inspirations are easily drawn to George Orwell’s Coming Up For Air, James Joyce’s Ulysses, and John Berryman’s Dream Songs, favorite books of the author.

The intensely personal poems and stories are supplemented with Murphy’s illustrations, as well as the script for a short film about an independent record store’s employees and customers during international Record Store Day.
