Feast by Graham Masterton
Masterton is a prolific and award-winning British horror author, known for his contributions to splatterpunk. This hard-to-find classic of the genre features a gourmet cannibal cult, flaming dogs, self-cannibalism, explosive vomiting, and explicit sex. Masterton's prose has been described as "sadistic" (Kirkus, 1992), in his stated pursuit of originality. Listed in Grady Hendrix's Paperbacks from Hell (p. 182-183), where he praises this particular text in detail, saying: "Wherever you think this book won't go, Masterton not only goes there, he reports back in luncy-inducing detail." As one Goodreads reviewer wrote, this book brings to mind John Water's proclamation that good taste is the enemy of art.
