This is autobiographical novel written by death row inmate Paul Crump. He was sentenced to death by electric chair after a 1953 armed robbery in which a security guard was killed. Crump's sentence was later commuted to life in prison, but this novel captures the emotional journey of life on death row, written as he lived it.
James Baldwin wrote a blurb for the back cover.
