Resistance and Revolution Open Mic

Join us for an open mic evening of literary solidarity. We will gather to share texts that affirm revolution, resistance, protest, activism, direct action, recovered histories, alternative futures, creative and collective agency, equity, intersectionality, and camaraderie, and confront oppression, marginalization, coloniality, capitalism, xenophobic nationalism, and other social and political forces that violate and suppress.

All may attend! Whether you are comfortable also reading a piece for us or not, please feel welcome to come and listen. We invite each of you who wishes to read to bring any text centered on a matter of social justice or political transformation to share with us. There is no specific thematic or topical limit. You may feel free to choose a contemporary or historical work, a poem or a prose excerpt, a fictional or nonfictional piece, a selection from a memoir or from a work of critical theory or philosophy, maybe even something that you have written yourself.

This will be an occasion to listen and learn together, think together about the possibilities of bottom-up social and political action, and grow our capacities for awareness and responsible alliance, especially in preparation for the formation of a social forum for intersectional and solidaric activism here in London.
