Can you fell the chill in the air? The leaves are changing into creepy colours, and we’re waking up to sweater-worthy mornings. There’s pumpkin spice at Starbucks! It only means one thing:
Death is coming.
All things die. Halloween will be here soon, and will begin our six month sojourn into darkness, drunkenness and despair. Clutching our black pearls, we have catalogued books about crime and mortality. It’s cathartic for us.
We’re sorry if this is depressing for you, but we just can’t handle any teddy bears, pretty flowers, or the nauseating sound of children’s’ laughter. Maybe next week will be different. Perhaps our new prescriptions for anti-depressants will finally kick in. In the meantime, enjoy this selection of books from the darkest corners of humanity.
