Hello everyone,
Our deeply irresponsible Reading Week Sale continues, both in-store and online, along with two great events this weekend. Online customers can use the coupon code READING at checkout to get 50% off all orders.
We also have a collaborative zine making workshop and magazine launch on Saturday with Femme Art Review. Drop in from 3-5 pm for this free event. Pick up a copy of Femme Art Review Issue #2, and take part in some fun zine making! There will supplies provided, but feel free to bring your own too.
Then don’t miss the true crime panel discussion with Michael Arntfield and Vanessa Brown on Sunday from 4-6 pm. This discussion is a part of Wordsfest which is completely worth your time regardless. Spend the weekend wandering the Museum, chatting with writers, editors, and publishers, and learning about the literary world. Mike and Vanessa will specifically be discussing the phenomenon of cold cases, and sharing some new leads on London’s unsolved murders.
We do not know how we find time for all of this. Perhaps it’s deep trauma therapy and micro-dosing that, as it always does, offer superhuman (or human proper) strength to enjoy life as it is. Or perhaps we just get giddy when piles of books threaten our time, as they should. Maybe it’s the promise of slumber once the dark nights of winter creep into our time zone. Does it matter, in the end, why and how? It just is. It just matters. Let’s dive into the book culture and shake off the worry like nesting raccoons in a pile of leaves.
So brave the world, see a festival, visit a bookshop, face society, and come in and say hello!
We hope to see you this weekend!
Much love,
Jason and Vanessa
