A Place the City Fortunately Forgot

Now that Snackers and Cooper have sniffed every inch of our new space, decided on which chairs are theirs to have and to hold, and gawked at our new office kitchenette, we are very pleased to announce that our second location is now open to the public!

The address is 32 Albion Street in the beautiful community gem that is Blackfriars.

Blackfriars: the place that the city fortunately forgot. Here sidewalks wrap around trees and grass grows through the crags. It is the oldest spot in the city, with forest ghosts, community gardens, cottage chic, and the oldest ballpark in the world.

WE LOVE IT!

Here we have our best books, our new arrivals, two puppers, and loads of room to sell us your collections. Here we process all of the incredible titles that pass through our lives. We have bookcases of unpriced stock in the back. Every day, we’ve been unboxing extraordinary works that impress and enchant.

In the warm weather, the book bus will be open out front with so much coolness even we feel unworthy — and we smoked ciggies at Dundas and Richmond BACK. IN. THE. DAY! Under the star-filled skies of the Thames Valley, we will soon play movies against the side of that old bluebird, the warm glow of a bookshop casting onto the street, and we can’t wait to invite all of you to be part of it..

It is a secret bookshop. A bookshop for quiet indoor kids. A place to come and rest, recover, hear yourself think, and perhaps pick up rare zines, books, or pamphlets on fantastical sea creatures.

Our new shop is accessible by bus (Route 2 & 12, exit at the 7-11 near Mount Pleasant), by the Thames Valley bike path west route (turn off at the Blackfriars bridge onto Blackfriars Street and turn left on Albion) or by car (we are off Wharnliffe Road at Rogers).

There is parking in front of our store.

Also, If you are using a wheelchair or other assistance, you’ll also find our new location much more accessible.

Our downtown shop remains open for browsing and events. However, those of you who want to sell books, pick up new arrivals, and explore the rare collection, will find us at 32 Albion, ready to greet you.

As always, thank you so much for everything. We hope to see your beautiful faces over the next few days!

Much love,
Jason and Vanessa
