Hello everyone,
It’s November so that means the party animals known as London’s Literary Community are going to take over Museum London for a weekend of literary magic! This is the 10th Anniversary of Wordsfest and we’ve had a blast there each year. This year we are bringing our bookmobile and parking it in the parking lot, as the weather is supposed to be positively dreadful. This means your own local used and collectible booksellers Brown and Dickson will be set up IN THE DEEPLY WARM AND PROPERLY HEATED atrium of Museum London, slinging beautiful books and culture alongside other folks blessed to be running small presses and bookshops. Hello Rose Garden Press. Hello the University Bookstore. Hello London writers!
We are also pleased and proud to be introducing one of our favourite new booksellers Veronica Vandersteen from Ex Mortis Books who will be tabled beside us. Veronica is the real deal, specializing in horror (calm our beating, bloody hearts) and she will be there with us freaking out your relatives.
Brown and Dickson is involved with TWO—count them TWO—events this year. We are participating in a Spooky Stories event Saturday afternoon and Jason is hosting a panel on Huron County literature featuring Tom Cull, Valerie Mills-Milde, and David D. Plain. Details are below. Both of these will be great events, we promise.
Additionally, this stuffed and incredible year features talks by Larry Towell, Don McKay, Emma Donoghue, Andre Picard, Sammy Orlowski, Jillian Clair, Christopher Runciman, David Barrick, Kathryn Mockler, Aaron Schneider, Brooke Lockyer, D.A. Lockhart…the list goes on.
While we write this REO Speedwagon’s Can’t Fight this Feeling plays on our laptop and speaks from our hearts. We can’t fight the feeling that this is going to be a great weekend.
