Bookparty III: Party in the Basement!

We are opening up our basement for a full day celebration of books, movies, arts, wood panelling, sandwiches, low ceilings, and local culture!

Also we’re having a massive sidewalk sale: fine lit, comics, local history, art, photography, interesting non-fiction, and more. Also everyone who comes gets a 10% coupon for anything in the shop.

On hand all day: ORANGE DRINK, that staple of basement parties and community organizations. What’s in it? WE DON’T KNOW! But it is still delicious.

At 2pm we’ll have London Poet Laureate Tom Cull on hand to answer your questions about how to get your work in print for reals!

3-5 is local history time with lectures, local history newsreels, documentaries screened in the basement, and more.

5-6 is Happy Hour at the Bookstore. We’ll have pizza, orange drink, and B&D folk ON HAND to fraternize and talk. BYOW.

6-7 is Tarot Readings, Ouija Boards (and perhaps a kissing booth?) in the basement.

7 is local history show-and-tell! Ashlie Hawkins will be on hand to show us some pieces from her wonderful local history memorabilia collection! Feel free to bring some of your own pieces to share with the crowd.

7pm is Adult Storytime with Vanessa Brown where she takes you STEP-BY-STEP through unfortunate erotica!

And at 8pm we reveal the pièce de résistance, a screening of London, Ontario born director Alan Gibson’s Hammer Horror film classic Dracula A.D. 1972.

Also more events will be planned as we think of them.

Book Sale all day. Party in the basement. We hope you can come.
