Kangaroo Variety #10

Who would have thought with our preference for snacks and movies we’d make it this far. BUT WELCOME TO KANGAROO VARIETY ISSUE #10!!!

Kangaroo Variety is a live monthly magazine hosted by Brown & Dickson Booksellers and UnLondon/121 Studios in the old Novack’s building (211 King Street). Just like a print magazine, KV offers interviews, features, reviews, investigative reports, satire and editorial pieces. The only difference is, it’s completely live!

This month we are delighted to re-team with the amazing Ting Comic and Graphic Arts Festival to bring you a special Ting-themed issue of KV. The opening reception for the Ting Festival is this same night at the Arts Project (6-8pm). So be sure to attend their awesome party then hop over one block south to 121

Studios for the Kangaroo Variety/Ting Fest extravaganza!

Here’s what to expect in this issue of KV:

An interview with the folks behind the important local comics publisher Runciman Press.

Toronto and Ting Fest artist Georgia Webber performs a piece on her voice rest.

An interview with Nikki Stafford (author of books on BBC’s Sherlock, Lost, Buffy, Xena, and Alias) by KV’s biggest fan Ashlie Hawkins.

Carla White reads excerpts from her Grade 6 diary (including her first kiss in a closet and her goals for 1997).

The premiere of the trailer for Damon Muma’s Fringe play My Planet and Me.

Ting Fest 2017 artist Jillian Clair’s ridiculous and crazy band will provide the music.
