Our Shelves are Heaving Bosoms of Language

We hope this finds you prepping for what ought to be an interesting month.

Firstly, we want to thank everyone who has visited us since we reopened. It is fantastic to see you. Many of you have met Cooper, our new shop dog. One of you was very understanding when she peed on the floor beside you. This, of course, prompted us to buy a BRAND NEW INDUSTRIAL MOP. Fortunately she is very tiny and can’t pee on the books. And we are very happy to report there have been no more accidents, although Jason did bang his head against our chandelier when he was changing a light-bulb. Such is the life of a monocular bookseller.

Also, before we get onto the business of new arrivals, we would like to ask those of you who have not signed up to our Patreon to please consider doing so if you are financially able. These are challenging times. Your support can help keep us afloat during the next few months, even if you sign up for the lowest tier. Thanks to our current patrons, and to those of you who recently decided to sign up. It means the world to us.

Now, on to the New Arrivals.

We don’t know what is going on but the quality and speed of new stock coming in the store has been awe-inspiring. We’ve just started to get through all of it! We’ve purchased an extraordinary contemporary poetry and literature collection with many small press items and Jason can’t handle it. Our shelves are heaving bosoms of language. Of note are books by or by Edward Gorey, Charles Beaumont, Flannery O’Connor, Beatrix Potter, Paul Auster, Jeanette Winterson, and Simone de Beauvoir to name just a few.

As always, please do let us know if there is anything we can do. Never hesitate to reach out.

With love,
Jason and Vanessa
