Last week’s visit to the Hamilton Art Crawl was EPIC!
While we do not have any jam packed ONTO the bus it still is a jam-packed week. So much jamming. Lots of juggling too.
We’re now exhibiting at the esteemed St. Jacob’s Market in…St. Jacob’s, Ontario. We will be there tomorrow. We’re also attending an event in Old East Village this Friday as well as a super awesome event at Odyssey Records this Sunday evening (in partnership with Shock Stock). Add our regular stops at Locomotive and Variety Cafe, and it is a week of madness for book lovers in Ontario.
The other day, we were compared to Christopher Morley’s Parnassus on Wheels (thank you Jeff). We were also told that we have LEVELED UP the dream of owning a bookshop (thank you Britta) now that we own a bookshop on wheels. We are grateful, and report that it is just as relaxing/exciting/anxiety-inducing as it seems.
While we are at it, though, we’ll give a shout out to the Book Addict on Springbank and Cardinal Books in Birr, both amazing shops who extended a sincere kindness to us when we visited yesterday. Parnassus didn’t exist in a vacuum, and whilst they traveled the roads of Virginia, they could not have made it anywhere without meeting great folks along the way. We promise to share the good folk’s we’ve met. Some are in this email already.
And then there’s you…dear reader. We see you at the Pinery. We see you at Locomotive Espresso and the Variety Cafe. You are simply the best. Our little family thanks you…and we are pleased to share that so far this crazy idea is working, and we don’t see us stopping any time soon. So bring us your books to sell. Bring us your desires to fulfill. We’re all birds of a feather, flocking in as much harmony as indoor kids can flock, careening madly across Ontario in search of lovely books.
Here’s to a great summer so far and an autumn full of adventure
Much Love,
Jason and Vanessa
